Roots Montessori Centre offers exceptional care and education for children aged 12 months to 6 years through our Infant, Toddler, Casa, and Kindergarten programs. Nestled in the newly developed community of Nolan Ridge Court (135, 150 Nolan Ridge Court, NW T3R 1W7, Calgary, AB), our center provides a nurturing environment where children are encouraged to explore, grow, and develop their full potential.
Inspired by the Montessori philosophy, we create an environment that fosters self-confidence, independence, and a love for learning. Children are guided to learn through exploration, making discoveries, and correcting their own mistakes, all of which support their natural development.
Our goal is to cultivate a positive, creative, and respectful atmosphere where children of different ages can engage in a variety of activities, learn from one another, and develop a strong sense of community.

Mrs. Faiza Khalid is the Founder and Executive Director of Roots Montessori Centre. She brings extensive teaching and management experience from working in an International School System in Pakistan and teaching in accredited Montessori schools in Calgary.
Her passion for early childhood education drives her approach as a co-learner, emphasizing the role of a teacher as a facilitator rather than a traditional instructor. She holds a Master of Business Administration degree, with a focus on Educational Management, Business Management, and Arts. Additionally, she has completed Montessori Philosophy training and an Early Childhood Education Diploma (Level 3) from Bow Valley College, Calgary, approved by the Early Childhood Department of Alberta Human Services.
As an educator and leader, Mrs. Khalid is committed to nurturing young minds creatively. Her philosophy centers on a student-focused learning environment, recognizing that each child is a unique individual with distinct strengths and abilities. She is dedicated to fostering independent, lifelong learners who will become productive members of society.
